The Chatham County Council on Aging is teaming up with the Arthritis Foundation and Twin Rivers Independent Living to offer a free eight week exercise program. The course will be taught by a certified Arthritis Foundation exercise instructor and is geared toward helping folks better manage pain associated with osteoarthritis. Studies have shown that regular physical activity helps immensely in alleviating the symptoms of the condition.
The class will start on March 20th and will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30pm at the Twin Rivers Independent Seniors Community at 25 Rectory Street, Pittsboro. Space is limited, however, so call Brett Moraes at (919) 542-4512 or email brett.moraes@chathamcouncilonaging.org to reserve your spot.
Even if you can't attend the course be sure to explore the Arthritis Foundation's introduction to exercise page which offers free exercise videos other resources to help seniors stay active.
