Town Lake Park Stocked with Bass

NC Fish & Wildlife just helped out Pittsboro Parks and stocked 300 Large Mouth Bass fingerlings in Town Lake Park.  More fish will be stocked next year.  They're probably this size now:

But someday they'll look like this and hopefully be more careful around ospreys than this fellow:

I think that hunting and fishing licenses help fund a lot of the great work that Fish and Wildlife does, so do the right thing. . . The lifetime licenses are still a great deal.

Parks Advisory Board Vacancy

Pittsboro's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PARAB) is looking for a few good men and women.  We have an immediate opening for someone who lives within the Pittsboro town limits.  Even if you live outside our corporate limits but within our ETJ and have a passion or appreciation for parks and recreation, send me an email; I'll let you know when other opportunities arise.

The PARAB meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00. Our motto is no long boring meetings - we all have busy lives.  We keep things fun with the occasional outing and by meeting at our parks when light levels allow.  We had a great paddle trip on the Haw River a few months ago, for instance, and held our last meeting at Town Lake Park. You can always come to a meeting to get a sense of things and decide if this is something you'd like to join, or you can contact me to help answer any questions you may have.
