Park Supporting License Plates
If you’re not aware of the Naturally Wonderful license plates, you should be because they help fund state and local parks and conservation efforts across North Carolina including Pittsboro’s two most recent parks, Rock Ridge Park and Mary Hayes Barber Holmes Park.
Proceeds from the $30 per year license fees help bolster the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund and the Natural Heritage Trust Fund. A great way to show your support for the parks!

2011 - 5K Reindeer Run - Pittsboro
The 2011 5K Reindeer Run will be held this Saturday December 10 at the Pittsboro campus of the Central Carolina Community College. Same-day registration begins at 7am and the opening gun sounds at 8am. Better yet, register online at www.sportoften.com, return this registration form to Chatham County Parks and Recreation at PO Box 1783 Pittsboro NC 27312, or hand deliver to 90 East Street in Pittsboro. It looks like this will be a record breaking year with over 275 people already pre-registered.
The shirt this year sports beautiful artwork by Washington State artist Kathleen Faulkner. Check out her blog to see her other work - lots of great jewelry in addition to the woodblock print used for the t-shirt.

Pittsboro Christmas Parade 2011 - December 4 at 3 PM
The Pittsboro, NC Christmas Parade will be held at 3 pm on December 4, 2011. This always draws a big crowd, so come on out to Downtown Pittsboro. Weather is expected to be around 56 degrees and partly sunny.
